I have great pleasure in welcoming you to the Currie Primary School website which I hope will give you some insight into our school.

On 29  October 2007 we moved into a brand new building and so we are fortunate to have very modern interior architecture and the latest technology to support teaching and learning. Staff, parents and pupils all agree that the new building is superb.

The building is brand new but the school has been established for several years and has a very good reputation within the community. As a staff we strive to provide an education which is both enjoyable and challenging and which meets the needs of all of our pupils.  The core curriculum is constantly being reviewed to meet the needs of Scotland in the twenty-first century.

However the core curriculum is only part of what is important in a school. We believe that the extra-curricular activities and home-school partnerships are very important. Currie Primary has a rich extra-curriculum programme including a citizenship challenge, and Eco group and many sports and arts activities taught by our own teaching staff and coaches from around the city.

We have a strong music and drama tradition and our pupils love putting on class shows. Sports and health have a high profile and we are becoming fitter by the month. Enterprise activities are hugely popular among our pupils and they provide an excellent vehicle for many other learning activities.

A large and effective Parent Council plays a significant role in the life of the school. An energetic  PTA organises a wide programme of after-school activities, social and fund-raising events all of which impact significantly.

Currie Primary school is a vibrant community and I hope this website will give you an impression of the school. However, only a visit will tell the whole story. If you would like to visit the school, please do not hesitate to contact us.
